Birth Doula
A birth doula is a professional trained to provide emotional, physical and educational support to individuals and families throughout pregnancy and labor. Birth doula’s have been directly correlated with reducing the need for interventions during birth. Doula’s help the birthing person maintain a sense of control, comfort and confidence. One postpartum visit
Our in person visits will review your birth plan as well as cover basic labor techniques. Our prenatal visits are also a time for you to discuss whatever is coming up for you during this special time. The overall goal is for us to build a relationship of trust that will help create a safe and empowered birth environment for you. Follow up visits are meant to provide a space for you to process your birth story. I will also assist in breastfeeding techniques if needed. I take time to listen to the mother and her needs. I am able to read the energy in the room to understand where I fit in and can enhance the birthing persons experience.
